Catholic Mass – The Most Popular Form of Catholic Worship

Are you a Catholic? Then, I am sure that you are quite familiar with the mass. It is the formal, official worship of Catholicism. Mass is considered to be the most important and sacred form of Catholic worship. For Catholics, this is their only way to fulfill a commandment and it is a precious kind of event that strengthens their faith to God.

The mass is usually held and celebrated in church. However, Catholics also have other rituals to show their devotion and worship. Music is also important during a mass, or in any Catholic ritual. Singing of worship songs and hymns is their way to express their faith and lift up their spirits to God.

Catholics also have an obligation to go to Mass every Sunday. This have to be fulfilled as this is written in the Ten Commandments. For many Catholics, mass is a sacred event that should be respected and practiced with heart. The mass is a true test of our faith and this is the event that keeps our faith even stronger as we live every day.

Pipe Organ Music – How It Contributes to Church Music

Most people ask why pipe organ sounds better than electronic organ. Aside from the fact that a pipe organ has a unique visual appeal, it is also known for its better sound quality.  The music from pipe organs is commonly used in churches. Why is this so? How pipe organ music contributes to church music as well as contemporary music?

For some people, pipe organ music has the ability to lift their musical praise to God. There is nothing leads stronger worship as effectively as what real pipes sound. There are some churches that choose to rebuild an existing pipe organ or replace it with an electronic alternative.

Some people ask if a rebuilt old pipe organ will be able to produce a sound just like that of a modern instrument. Certainly, the answer is yes. It is also possible to add MIDI capabilities to rebuilt pipe organ.  Through proper tonal planning, a church will be able to convene the musical challenges of traditional and contemporary kinds of worship.

Music from Choir – The Importance of Choir in Worship

When you go to church, you will hear and see a choir singing on stage. This is common and famous during the Christmas season. But, have you ever wondered why there is a choir and what their purpose is?

Certainly, a choir serves as a support role in every worship service. In mass, the music coming from the choir helps put the heart and soul of people and focus on God. Worship music also prepares them for the preaching.

Every local church should always find ways on how to bring praise to God. Having a good choir in every mass is known to be s good way in keeping the people together. It also helps them release the stress and burdens that they are feeling. In every song that a choir sings, we get close to God.

A choir inspires us to have a dedication and devotion with Christ and encourage us to be strong despite of the most difficult times, just like what is happening now in Syria.

Liturgical Music – A Good Way to Show Praise for God

Music is considered to be a good way of worshiping in church today. It is also comprises a great part in many lives. It is known to touch people’s lives and can bring people together. These are just some of the reasons why liturgical music is important in every church.

There are some music artists and musicians that are not talented in music but are also blessed. This means that they can really feel the music they play inside and can even play it by ear. Beethoven is a good example of this. He lost his hearing and could not hear the music he wrote but he wrote them all.

Liturgical music exists because it is a form of giving praise to God. When a choir sings at the front of the church, it is for praise and leads the church into worship and praise for God.  Church music is also good for happiness. It keeps you happy and singing releases stress and burdens.

Restored Organs: Preserving and Unveiling Their Timeless Beauty

Some people say that restoring a vintage organ is not a smart move. How could they say this if most restored organs are now being unveiled and given a lot of special attention?

As a matter of fact, there are people various organizations that are doing their very best to restore old, outdated organs and bring back the musical instrument’s original sound and beauty.

One good example is the Society for the Preservation of Music Hall that is planning to unveil the first in a planned series of restored panels that can be found in an art-carved organ screen.

Also, Glendale resident Kathy Janson has already worked with a trusted conservator to have a rare panel restored to its optimum state .

Another example is the restoration and unveiling of the organ of the historic church of St. Thomas. A huge number of people gathered for this dedication to witness such meaningful event.
